Woman appears before court following a fatal crash in Darlington Point

A Canberra woman has appeared before Griffith Local Court charged with negligent driving following a fatal crash in Darlington Point.

Angela Gillman, 54, fronted Griffith Local Court on Wednesday (20 September) where Magistrate Trevor Khan adjourned the matter until 18 October and excused her from appearing on the next occasion if she was legally represented.

Emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway near Darlington Point following reports of a single-vehicle crash about 1:30 pm on 16 July.

When officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District arrived at the scene they found the 58-year-old male passenger of the crashed Toyota Hilux had died.

Gillman, from the Canberra suburb of Aranda and who is alleged to have been driving, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Griffith Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Police established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist police.
