Canberra woman pleads not guilty to fatal crash in Darlington Point

A Canberra woman has pleaded not guilty at a recent court mention following a fatal crash in Darlington Point in July.

Angela Gillman, 54, entered a plea of not guilty at Griffith Local Court to a charge of negligent driving occasioning death on Wednesday (20 December).

On 16 July, emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway near Darlington Point following reports of a single-vehicle crash at about 1:30 pm.

When officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District arrived at the scene, they found the 58-year-old male passenger of the crashed Toyota Hilux had died.

Gillman, from the Canberra suburb of Aranda, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Griffith Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Police established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist police.

Magistrate Trevor Khan has adjourned the matter until 14 February 2024.
