Six prime movers and two trailers destroyed in suspicious fire

Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire that destroyed several heavy vehicles in North Albury’s truck yard.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a transport yard in Batten Street about 1 am on Thursday (2 May).

Fire and Rescue NSW battled the blaze for several hours. However, the fire destroyed six prime movers, two B-double trailers and a single-set trailer.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire.

Murray River Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the fire, which is believed to be suspicious.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Albury Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
