Police are appealing for information following a suspicious fire in Wagga Wagga late last year.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District were conducting patrols when they saw smoke coming from a shed on Blake Street in Wagga about 3 pm on 29 December.

Police contacted Fire and Rescue NSW, who extinguished the blaze.

Police say there were no reports of injury, however the shed was destroyed.

A crime scene was established and the scene was forensically examined.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and “potentially deliberately lit”.

Witnesses saw two unidentified people running from the shed at the time of the fire, north along Eulong Lane onto Forsyth Street.

As inquiries continue, police urge anyone with information to contact Wagga Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
