Police call for public's help after indecent assault in Griffith

Murrumbidgee Police District has appealed for public assistance after a woman was indecently assaulted in Griffith this week.

About 12:50 pm on Wednesday (29 June), a 61-year-old woman was shopping at a supermarket on Oakes Road, when an unknown man approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.

The woman confronted the man, who then left the store.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District were notified and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 30s or 40s, about 180cm-185cm tall, of medium build, with short brown hair.

In the security images, he can be seen wearing a brown long-sleeved T-shirt, beige pants with black pocket flaps and dark brown work boots.

He was carrying a black backpack at the time.
