Wikipedia says: Ben Fordham (born 29 November, 1976) is an Australian journalist, sports reporter and radio presenter. Fordham currently hosts Ben Fordham Live on Sydney radio station 2GB.

We say: One of the great guys in Australian media. A down-to-earth man of the people and definitely one of our 50 Aussies we’d love to have a beer with.

Do you have a connection to the Region?
Yep. I almost married a girl whose sister lives in Wagga. So I’m practically a local!

What and when was your last visit?
My last visit involved mustering sheep and working at a shop at the Wagga Show. I had better success at the show.

Favourite part of the Region?
I love it all but am particularly fond of Wagga Wagga. I love the drive into Wagga.

What was your best food experience?
I love a good pub feed, so Wagga certainly covers – and in winter, Kaz’s famous pumpkin soup at Le Brooks Cafe hits the spot. (*Author’s disclaimer – I actually own Le Brooks Cafe and Ben does not receive free Soup!).

What’s a “must do” when in the Region?
Take a sunset walk around Lake Albert or check out the Wagga wave at 5 pm at Wagga Beach.

Drive or fly?
Drive.

What are your three go-to songs on the road trip to the Region?
Go Your Own Way – Fleetwood Mac; American Pie – Don McLean; Daydream – Lily Meola.

Name one person you would not want in the passenger seat for the drive.
Beau Ryan.

Name anyone, dead or alive, you would want in the passenger seat for the drive.
Prince Harry.

Do you bring your own pillows?
Yes!

Why should someone who hasn’t visited here make the trip?
Because the entire region offers every thing that is good about the country… every spot has something good about it.
