The Wagga Kangaroos boosted their forward power this season with an old favourite returning to the fold. Having spent a season at the Kangaroos under coach Simon Woodford in 2021 after his first couple of seasons in Group 9 at Albury, Luke Ingram went up to play in the Queensland Cup with Mackay, playing five games for the Cutters in the Queensland Cup this season (The Cutters are a feeder club for NRL team the North Queensland Cowboys).

He and teammate and Bombala buddy Tyler Jones also coach the Kanagroos Under 16 side … the young blokes love them.

Luke is currently doing his building apprenticeship and likes to relax with a bath and sauna, and by doing a bit of fishing and hunting.

Winning the first-grade comp for my hometown Bombala.

Favourite player as a kid and why?
Former Rabbitoh, Queensland and Australian legend Greg Inglis – just the energy he brought to the game; I can’t go past him.

Favourite ground to play on and why?
Bombala home ground is a ripper – just the atmosphere the place has when the whole town gets there to watch the game – outstanding!

Why should young kids take up rugby league?
It becomes a second home, the feeling you get out there in the trenches with your mates when you get the win. Also, you can go anywhere with rugby league – travel the world if you want.

Don’t do anything half-arsed.

On a car trip from the region to Sydney who would you not want in the passenger seat?
Braydo.
