Bowie Foster is the current No. 9 in the Wagga Kangaroos first grade squad.

Playing the role of acting half, it’s Bowie’s job to distribute the ball cleanly from the ruck to his playmakers, veteran Group 9 legends Nathan Rose and James Smart.

Close to the line, the dynamic hooker is as dangerous as any and has scored on numerous occasions this season with his darts and burrowing runs from dummy half.

For a crust, Bowie is a cement renderer who likes to hit the gym regularly and take in a spot of camping and fishing to unwind.

Where are you from and where did you first start playing footy?
I’m from a small town about 25 minutes out of Wagga called Collingullie.

Best footy memory?
My best footy memory so far would have to be either winning the 18s grand final or making my first grade debut.

Favourite player as a kid and why?
My favourite player growing up was the GOAT, Joey Johns.

Favourite childhood meal you can remember?
My Nan was an unreal cook so I had a few but probably have to say her pumpkin soup.

Favourite ground to play on and why?
McDonald’s Park would be my favourite I’d say, it would be the best field in Group 9 so we are pretty lucky to have it as our home ground.

Why should young kids take up rugby league?
I think all kids should give some sort of sport a crack, rugby league being the best in my opinion – great way to meet new friends and get involved in a team sport.

Do you have a celebrity lookalike?
Not anyone in particular but probably anyone with a decent size nose.

What annoys you?
I’m pretty impatient so I’d have to say slow drivers or slow walkers.

Best advice you’ve ever been given?
Probably to never take anything for granted. Or, to give 100 per cent in everything you do.

On a car trip from the region to Sydney who would you not want in the passenger seat?
Ryan Cronin (Kangaroos teammate). I reckon he doesn’t wash too often so he gets a bit powerful on the nose.

Any person (dead or alive) you would want in the passenger seat?
I think it would have to be Tom or Eddy off Hello Sport, they’re hilarious so would make for a pretty funny trip.

Down to your last $20 – what would you spend it on?
The last $20 would go to a few schooners I reckon, can’t really go wrong there.
