Wait out the weather in a theatre or a cinema this weekend, be serenaded by Toni Childs, or laugh along with Emma Thompson. If you still need to warm up, dance the night away at Playground Nightclub with the legendary crew from Cloud Nine.

For those who want to get out and about, the Tarcutta Markets are back after a short break, and the Ganmain Show will prove a big day out for all ages, finally returning after their 2021 cancellation.

Griffith comes alive with one of its biggest annual events – get A Taste of Italy when the highly anticipated festival kicks off on Monday. Read on to keep you and yours entertained this week!

Love Pizza: The Dinner Show

When: Friday 19 August, 7 pm; Saturday 20 August, 2 pm and 7 pm
Where: All Saints Anglican Parish Hall, River Street, Tumut

This is community dinner theatre at its most cheesy! CAST Snowy are presenting you their brand new, original show. When two crusty pizza cooks turn up the heat, it may be time to get out of the kitchen. But when two young pizza lovers team up, the chefs may find they need to mix up the menu a bit. This is a great night out for everyone guaranteed – you can’t go wrong with pizza!

Making its debut this week, Good Luck to You, Leo Grande stars the incomparable Emma Thompson alongside Daryl McCormack in a heartwarming and often comedic exploration of sexuality and aging. Tickets to The Black Phone, Elvis, Jurassic World: Dominion and Minions: Rise of Gru have dropped to $12.50 each, so head down to Forum Cinemas if you haven’t had a chance to experience these blockbusters yet.

Starting as a concept for a niche Saturday club night, set in a basement in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Cloud Nine ended up exploding into a 4-level weekly mini-festival, changing the clubbing scene Australia-wide. Cloud Nine won #1 Victorian Club Night for three years in a row, but after 10 years of Cloud Nine, the club decided to finish up and say goodbye to 60 King Street for good last weekend. Now that their final fling is over, they’re bringing their iconic party around Australia and they’re coming straight to Wagga – do not miss out!

Rug up and head to Tarcutta for the markets where you can browse a range of homegrown produce, locally made creations, pre-loved books, plants, accessories and much more. Ganmain Show

SMRF’S Dancing with the Stars

Six local contestants will dance like no one is watching in a colourful showcase of iconic dance performances mixed with incredible routines from some of Wagga’s best performers, all in the name of charity! The show will be filled with performances from the cast of SMRF’s recent production Life in the Spotlight, accompanied by talented local singers and dancers. Featured dancers include Genevieve Fleming, Michael Cummins, Jade Boulton, Rebekah Manwaring, Elissa Bent, and Monique Kitchener, with choreographers and mentors Melissa Brown and Gavin Hulm.

Willans Hill Miniature Railway Rides

When: Sunday 21 August, 10 am – 2:30 pm
Where: Wagga Botanic Gardens, 43 Tom Wood Drive, Wagga
Cost: $4 per person, tickets sold at the station.

The Wagga Wagga Society of Model Engineers welcomes enthusiasts of all ages to come for a ride on the trains. Wind your way through the hills of central Wagga, checking in at two stations, two tunnels, and three bridges along the way on one of the club’s six locomotives. Back by popular demand, Willans Hill Miniature Railway returns with it’s COVID-safe public run days, operating on the first and third Sundays of the month. Physical distancing and other COVID-19 procedures are in place for your safety.
