Wagga driver caught speeding 98km/h above the speed limit

A driver has been charged after he was allegedly caught travelling nearly 100km/h above the posted speed limit near Wagga.

Wagga Highway Patrol were conducting patrols as part of Operation Spoiler when they allegedly detected a grey Porsche Cayenne station wagon travelling at 178km/h in an 80km/h signposted area along Gregadoo Road, Lake Albert about 4:20 pm on Tuesday (9 August).

Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with a 47-year-old man.

The driver was issued with a Court Attendance Notice for speed dangerous and exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.

The Lake Albert man will appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 31 August 2022.

His NSW driver’s licence has been suspended.
