The team at the Riverina Seafood Market is expecting its busiest day of the year on Thursday, as more than 500 customers have pre-ordered for Good Friday.

Market director Ryan Martin said he and his team would have a couple of long days preparing the hundreds of pre-orders for this weekend, a time he described as the business’s Christmas.

“For the last week, we’ve had hundreds of people coming in and ordering food for Easter,” Ryan said.

“The food is delivered fresh and express from Sydney. Once it arrives, we try our best to get it to the customers as soon as possible.

“We will start preparing a bunch of orders on Wednesday night. It’s going to be a long evening but we have to do it to make sure everyone gets their order.

“A lot of orders will start to be picked up on Thursday. It’s going to be very busy right up until Tuesday.”

Scallops, oysters, crab, snapper, flounder and much more will be available all weekend despite the huge numbers of orders.

Oysters and cooked prawns have been the most popular seafood items this year, although Ryan had a few other suggestions for those still deciding what to eat this Easter weekend.

“The live Murray cod is very nice. I think a lot of people will really enjoy that,” he said.

“We have plenty of cooked prawns, there’s not going to be any shortage there. There are two options, the cooked jumbo and the cooked Crystal Bay prawns. Both are very good. I also think the swordfish and salmon are great.”

The Riverina Seafood Market will be open all weekend, including Easter Sunday, and is promising plenty of food to go around.

“We’re here with real, fresh seafood. We try our best to give you the best possible fresh ocean taste and flavour,” Ryan said.

“We have plenty of food on sale for Easter. Please come down and enjoy the great food we have to offer.”

The Riverina Seafood Market is located at 80 Murray Street, Wagga Wagga. They are open Good Friday from 9 am until 4 pm, Easter Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm, and Easter Sunday and Monday from 9 am until 4 pm. Check out their website for more information.
