Murrumbidgee Police are trying to locate a 34-year-old Narrandera woman who allegedly demanded a safe be opened at Narrandera Bowling Club while she was holding an open umbrella.

Griffith Police inspector Glenn Smith informed Region the incident occurred just after 2 pm on Friday (31 May). The woman reportedly entered the club with her face covered in a dark cloth.

The woman allegedly picked up an umbrella, extended it and walked behind the bar towards the female bar attendant and demanded the attendant open the safe. The bar attendant refused to do so and told the woman to leave, pointing towards the exit.

The bar attendant called out to one of the club’s customers for assistance. The woman then walked out from behind the bar and left the club, taking the umbrella with her.

Police are currently trying to locate the woman, who was described as wearing a black cap, black jacket, blue jeans and her face covered with a dark cloth.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact Griffith Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
