A Yenda man who was arrested for alleged offensive behaviour has also been accused of tearing up a court attendance notice he was handed by police.
District Inspector Glenn Smith informed Region the man was expelled from a Griffith licensed premises, and told not to re-enter due to his alleged high level of intoxication at around 8:15 pm on Sunday 26 January.
A short time later, the man was seen donning a hat and re-entering the premises. He then had a minor altercation with some patrons, and a security guard stood between the men before escorting the man outside.
While outside, the man was still argumentative with security and other patrons.
At about 8:20 pm, police were contacted, attended the club and questioned the security guard before speaking with the man, arresting him and taking him to Griffith Police Station.
A few hours later, the man was served and read a Field Court Attendance Notice to front Griffith Local Court on 12 February.
However, once he was handed the notice, officers say they saw the man begin to tear it into pieces before leaving the police station.
