Man charged over fatal Kyeamba truck crash

A man has been charged after yesterday’s fatal crash on Tumbarumba Road at Kyeamba.

Emergency services responded to reports of a two-vehicle collision around 10 am on Monday (29 May) and discovered a Kenworth prime mover and a truck both alight at the scene.

NSW Rural Fire Service extinguished the blaze, but the driver of the truck, a man believed to be in his 40s, died at the scene.

The other driver, a 60-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital with minor injuries.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the crash began.

Following inquiries, the 60-year-old was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station where he was charged.

The man was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death. His licence was suspended.

The man was granted bail to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday, 26 July.
