Man arrested on drug, fraud and theft charges after a series of break-ins

Murrumbidgee police investigating a series of break and enters in Hay have made an arrest.

Police said the offences in numerous residential and commercial premises mainly took place in the early hours of the morning or late in the evening between 1 July and 12 August and 14 September and 16 September.

After an extensive investigation by Hay Police, officers executed a search warrant on a premise in Maiden Lane in Hay where numerous items of property were located, including property associated with the break and enters.

A 24-year-old Hay man was arrested yesterday morning and later charged at Hay Police Station with a number of break, enter and steal offences, as well as larceny, fraud and drug offences.

He was refused bail and appeared in the Griffith Local Court on Tuesday (27 September).

Investigations are continuing to trace the origins of some of the property located at the premises during the search.
