Multiple Golden Guitar winner and expert horseman Tom Curtain is set to bring his next tour to the Riverina.

The Why We Live Out Here Tour will be held at Temora Showground on 17 February.

“Temora has been lucky enough to be chosen to embrace Tom and his teammates and enjoy the most amazing experience that has never before been seen or heard in Temora,” said event organiser Debbie Coddington.

“Proceeds will help our local community’s Open Minds Brighter Futures and the historic Bectric Hall.”

Tom and his crew of dogs, horses, goats and guitarists, will highlight the stories and culture of the bush.

“There’s something about the bush that gets deep into your soul, and I’m so passionate about meeting people, hearing their stories, and sharing them with the rest of the country and that’s what this show is about,” Tom said.

Following the success of his national tours, he has hit the road again with the horses and dogs from Katherine Outback Experience and fellow musicians Chris Matthews, Melissa Fraser, and Laura Frank.

The show includes the one-hour Outback Show with horses, working dogs, and goats, and one and a half hours of live music.

Tom’s latest album, Nothin’s Gonna Stop Us Now is a mid-tempo slow-burner and the title track to his recently released fifth studio album.

The highly anticipated album hit number one on the iTunes Country Album Chart thanks to its lead single Why We Live Out Here. The single reached No. 1 on the Country Tracks Top 40 Airplay Chart and remained in the mix for more than nine months.

The horse trainer from the Territory admitted a love song was new ground for him as a songwriter.

“I wanted a song about the idea that love conquers all,” Tom said.

“We all have our own battles, but I have learnt that none of that matters when the person you love is right by your side.”

The Why We Live Out Here Tour is a family-friendly event and will be held at the Temora Showground on 17 February from 6 to 8:30 pm. Gates will open at 5 pm.

Tickets can be purchased online.
