Riverina Police District are calling for information from the public following a break-and-enter and fire overnight at Turvey Park Public School in Wagga Wagga.
Police said following reports of a fire, emergency services were called to the school on Halloran Street at about 2:50 am on Tuesday (18 July).
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze. However, the building was extensively damaged and declared the school non-operational.
The school was vacant at the time and there were no reports of any injuries.
Officers from The Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire and break-and-enter, which is being treated as suspicious.
Turvey Park Public School announced via its Facebook page that the school would be non-operational for students who were set to return for their first week back at school. The school also stated parents and guardians will be advised further via email.
