Police appeal for information following an armed robbery in Junee

Riverina police are investigating following an alleged armed robbery of a service station in Junee.

Police said a man armed with a firearm entered a service station on Illabo Road in Junee, and threatened the employee demanding cash on Wednesday (31 August) at about 11:20 pm.

After not being able to open the cash register, the armed man stole it and fled on foot.

The employee was not physically injured, and officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified.

A crime scene was established and has been forensically examined.

Investigators would like to speak to a man, described as being of caucasian appearance, between 180cm to 185cm tall with a solid build and wearing all black clothing and a face mask.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have CCTV footage from nearby streets or dashcam footage from Knight and Queen Streets between 11 pm and 11:30 pm to come forward and call Wagga Wagga Police on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
