Investigations continue after body found on a rural property in Carabost

A body believed to be that of a man missing from Carabost has been located on a rural property.

NSW Police say the 71-year-old man was last seen at his home on Coppabella Road at about 3 pm on Sunday (23 October).

When a neighbour went to visit at 6 pm and the man could not be found, officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.

Police say following inquiries, the man was located deceased on the rural property on Coppabella Road, just before 3 pm on Monday (24 October).

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing 71-year-old man.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death continue and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
