UPDATE Friday 3 Nov 3:30 PM: A man and a woman have been arrested over their alleged involvement in yesterday’s shooting outside Albury.

About 3:20pm yesterday (2 November), emergency services were called to Maryville Way, Thurgoona, following reports of a shooting and a man calling for help.

A 26-year-old man was found with wounds to his hand and shoulder. He was treated at the scene and remains in a stable condition in Albury Base Hospital.

Following police inquiries, a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested in Macksville this morning (3 November).

Both were taken to Macksville Police Station, where they are currently assisting with inquiries.

Friday 3 Nov 12:30 PM: Police are calling for help from the public after a man was shot in Albury yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Maryville Way, in the suburb of Thurgoona, following reports of a shooting about 3:20 pm on Thursday (2 November).

A handful of Murray River Police District vehicles converged on the scene and officers in protective vests found a 26-year-old man with wounds to his hand and shoulder.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Albury Base Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police established a crime scene which has been forensically examined and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Dicty.

As inquiries continue, investigators have released CCTV footage of a man who they believe can assist with their inquiries.

The man depicted is described as wearing a blue and white long sleeve shirt, black pants, shoes, and a cap. He is wearing a face mask and carrying a black shoulder bag.

Anyone with information or who may have been in the area at the time and may have dash cam vision is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
