Murray River Police are appealing for information following an allegedly deliberately lit house fire in Albury over the weekend.
Police said officers attached to Murray River Police District were patrolling Captain Cook Drive, North Albury, when they saw smoke coming from the roof of a home, near the intersection of Ryan Road, just before 1:30 am Saturday (20 April).
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.
Initial inquiries indicated entry was forced into the home and the fire was deliberately lit.
The house, which was unoccupied, was partially damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.
A crime scene was established, which has been forensically examined.
Detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fire.
As inquiries continue, any witnesses or anyone who may have CCTV or dash cam vision is urged to contact Albury detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
