Wagga youth are invited to speak about their life and vision for the city at the Civic Theatre.

Wagga City Council is calling on 17-25-year-olds to take part in the upcoming Outloud Wagga youth forum to share their visions for the city and speak about their experience of living in Wagga.

Outloud Wagga will feature live music, food and plenty of discussions about the place we work, live, play and study.

Youth development officer Alex Osgood said the council needed to be in conversation with young people to ensure Wagga was a place they wanted to be part of as it continued to grow.

“We are committed to hearing the voices of young people and making sure they are part of the decision-making process,” Ms Osgood said.

“We identified that young people aged 12 to 25 want to engage with council in non-formal settings to provide feedback and insight into council projects.

“This forum aims to provide just that, as well as give young people invaluable leadership opportunities, avenues to voice their opinions on issues that matter to them and be empowered to lead their own initiatives.”

Ms Osgood said the city council wanted to find out about the most important issues in the eyes of the young people in the local government area.

The feedback will better inform the council’s decisions and help guide the development of new events, programs and opportunities in the community.

“We really want to be guided by the voices of young people in an accessible, inclusive and safe space,” Ms Osgood said.

“Everyone is welcome, so please register your interest.”

People aged between 12 and 25 who live, work or study in Wagga are invited to complete the 2022 survey.

The survey closes at midnight on Friday, 30 September. Click here to complete the Youth Survey.
