Watch as CCTV captures ram raiders on a spree in the Riverina

Police are appealing for information following three ram raids involving vehicles believed to have been stolen in the state’s Murrumbidgee region yesterday.

One of the break-ins occurred at the Metro West Wyalong – Kebab and Burger service station and was captured on CCTV.

The dramatic footage shows a white utility crashing into the door before five individuals enter the servo with their faces covered.

According to manager Rushi Goswami, the thieves were in and out quickly.

“They took a few smokes and lighters, a few drinks and some money,” he confirmed.

Officers are investigating a total of three incidents at businesses in the West Wyalong and Ungarie areas, which occurred between 3 am and 4 am on Thursday 28 July using three stolen utilities.

Police have been told the utes were stolen from three separate motels on Ungarie Road and Neeld Street, West Wyalong.

Two were used to ram into the Metro service station on Neeld Street and a motorcycle shop on Main Street, West Wyalong, where two Husqvarna motorcycles were stolen.

A short time after, a stolen white Toyota Hilux was located engulfed in flames in Wootten Street, West Wyalong.

Soon after, the other stolen vehicle – a 2009 white Toyota Hilux dual cab tabletop utility that was carrying the two stolen motorbikes – and another unknown vehicle pulled up at a service station on Woolongough Street, Ungarie.

Two offenders smashed the glass front door and stole a sum of cash from the premises.

The Hilux and the stolen motorcycles are yet to be recovered.

The third vehicle – a white Holden Colorado stolen from a motel – was found dumped behind a business on Main Street.

Police believe the incidents are linked and are searching for five offenders, who all had their faces covered.
