61-year-old man has died following a two-truck collision on the Hume Highway.
Officers from Riverina Police District found B-double and a refrigerated truck had collided and confirmed that the driver of the B-double had died at the scene while he was trapped in the vehicle.
He has not been formally identified.
Police said the 30-year-old driver of the refrigerated truck exited the vehicle and tried to contact emergency services.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wagga Wagga Hospital as a precaution and for mandatory testing.
Riverina Police District established a crime scene with the Crash Investigation Unit investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The traffic on Hume Highway northbound of Tarcutta approaching the Sturt Highway was diverted via Tumbarumba Road to Alfredtown, then to Sturt Highway to rejoin the Hume Highway.
Motorists were advised to allow plenty of extra travel time and follow the directions of emergency services and traffic crews on site.
