A third person has been charged after a fatal shooting in Wagga last month.
Emergency services were called to Connorton Avenue, Ashmont, following reports a man had been shot during an altercation, just before 3 am on Monday 9 June.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and located the injured 37-year-old man; however, he died at the scene.
A crime scene was established, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Cerventes with assistance from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Last month, a 35-year-old man was charged with murder and special aggravated break and enter and committing serious indictable offence. A 28-year-old woman was also charged with special aggravated break and enter accessory. Both cases remain before the courts.
Following further inquiries, at about 8:15 am on Tuesday (8 July), Strike Force detectives attached to Riverina Police District stopped a vehicle on the side of the Olympic Highway, Wagga Wagga near Kincaid Street and arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station and charged with murder and special aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court on Wednesday.
