Griffith Police are searching for a person of interest (POI) wearing a hoodie with the words ‘2PAC’ on it who allegedly broke into a Yoogali home and took items from two vehicles.

2PAC is the name of an American gangster rapper who was murdered in 1996.

District Inspector Glenn Smith informed Region the alleged incident occurred at 12:30 am on Thursday 6 February.

An unknown POI wearing a hooded jumper, green gloves, and white/cream pants allegedly entered a white utility vehicle parked in the driveway of a home and a second Nissan Patrol in the garage.

It is believed neither of these vehicles were locked at the time. The person allegedly searched through both vehicles and took a wallet, handbag and a garage remote.

The POI then allegedly rummaged through the wallet and handbag, scattered items on the front lawn outside the garage, and dropped the garage door remote on the front lawn.

Police believe the suspect then gained access to the rear yard of the location via the side gate. The POI then entered the rear shed door and possibly opened a cooler door before leaving the location. The suspect’s gender is not known.

“Once again, this is a timely reminder to people to make sure they secure their vehicles and not leave valuables in them such as phones, wallets and purses or garage remotes,” Inspector Smith said.

“If you leave your vehicle unlocked in your driveway with a garage remote in the vehicle, you could be giving intruders access into your home if your garage has an internal access door.”

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
