Murrumbidgee police are on the lookout for a man who allegedly pushed a police officer while shirtless and then escaped capture by jumping a fence near the shopping mall Griffith Central.
At about 1 am on Sunday (14 September), police drove past a licensed premises on Jondaryan Avenue when they saw a male walking towards a small group of people.
At the time, an officer saw the man was not wearing a shirt and appeared intoxicated and irate.
Police attempted to speak with the man, who ignored police.
Officers left their vehicle and walked towards the man before attempting to separate him from the group.
Murrumbidgee Police will allege the man then turned towards a police officer and forcefully pushed him away.
The man then allegedly ran from the location and police chased him on foot.
The man was seen running from Jondaryan Avenue onto Yambil Street and over a fence near Griffith Central.
Police will be obtaining CCTV footage in their attempt to identify the male.
