A 35-year-old senior constable is set to face court following an alleged assault in the Riverina last year.
Police said Murrumbidgee Police District officers commenced an investigation in August, into the alleged assault of a 25-year-old man during an arrest in Griffith on 24 August 2024.
The senior constable attached to a command in the Southern Region was issued a court attendance notice charged with behaving in an offensive manner in a public place and two counts of common assault.
He is due to appear before Griffith Local Court on 5 March.
The officer’s employment status is under review.
