Search for teen who went missing in floodwaters continues

A multi-agency search is underway for a man who went missing in floodwaters at Balranald in the Riverina’s west over the weekend.

At about 11:30 am on Saturday (26 November), emergency services were called to River Street at Balranald following reports a 19-year-old Balranald man had been swept into floodwaters.

A search involving officers from Barrier Police District, Marine Rescue, Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service commenced, however it has since been suspended.

Barrier Police District says inquiries continue into the missing 19-year-old, and the research efforts resumed at 7 am on Monday (28 November).
