NRL.com says Paul Gallen captained the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks to their maiden premiership in 2016, is regarded as one of the greatest to play for the southern Sydney team and continued his career as an athlete in professional boxing.
We say he is one of the toughest players to ever lace on a boot or step into a ring. He’s like a Kangaroo – he doesn’t know how to take a backwards step.
Do you have a connection to the region? What and when was your last visit?
My last visit was recently with my son who was playing touch footy in the State Cup in Wagga for the Sharks.
We had an awesome visit to the region.

Favourite part of the region?
The Blamey Hotel in Wagga – absolutely love it.
What was your best food experience?
The steak at The Blamey is as good as it gets.
What’s a “must-do” when in the region?
You just have a swim in the river. It’s not Cronulla Beach, but it’s a close second.
Drive or fly?
Drive – especially with a car full of kids. Flying would be a nightmare.
What’s your three go-to songs on the road trip to the region?
The kids get to choose the music these days … my days as a car DJ are long gone.
Name one person you would not want in the passenger seat for the drive?
My mum. She loves Elvis and it would be an absolute punishment listening to him all the way!

Michael Jordan.
Do you bring your own pillows?
I do indeed.
Why should someone who hasn’t visited here make the trip?
Plenty of pubs to visit. Great people and such a focus on sport.
