Police urge witnesses to come forward over alleged assault involving man and a woman

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an alleged assault this month in Wagga Wagga.

Riverina Police District said the alleged incident, involving a man and a woman who are known to each other, occurred about 3:20 am on Saturday (3 December). It occurred on Edmondson Street near the intersection of Erin Street.

The man allegedly suffered a small stab wound to his chest, while the woman suffered facial injuries.

Police are trying to confirm details of the incident and are calling on anyone who may have witnessed it to come forward.

Police say they would like to speak to two males who were seen on Railway Street and Erin Street before the alleged assault.

There is no suggestion that they were involved; however, the police would like to speak with them as witnesses.
