Police seize 19.5kg of cannabis and $16,000 during a random breath test

Two men have been charged after police seized drugs and cash during a vehicle stop in Hay over the weekend.

Officers attached to Hay Highway Patrol stopped a motorhome on the Sturt Highway for the purpose of a random breath test at about 1 pm (November 27).

Murrumbidgee Police District said during a search of the motorhome, police allegedly located and seized almost 19.5 kilograms of cannabis and $16,000 cash.

The 21-year-old male driver and his passenger, a 27-year-old man were arrested and taken to Hay Police Station.

Both men were charged with one count of supplying cannabis, and one count of recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime.

They were refused bail to appear in Griffith Local Court today (November 28).
