Riverina Police District has released CCTV footage of a woman following a fire at two Wagga Wagga businesses earlier this month.
Emergency services were called to Blake Street, Wagga Wagga, following reports of a fire at Pot ‘n’ Kettle Coffee House at about 10:30 pm on 8 September.
Fire and Rescue NSW attended and found the blaze had spread to an adjoining business Karizma Hair & Beaute. Both properties suffered extensive damage.
At the same time, the residents in the adjoining buildings were evacuated.
First responders found the coffee shop on fire when they arrived and firefighters wearing airsets quickly began attacking the fire with lines of hose.
Firefighters also searched the structure, finding no one inside. Just before midnight, firefighters reported that they had contained the fire, which was extinguished just after 12:30 am.
One person was treated by ambulance.
Wagga Wagga Police Station officers attended and commenced an investigation. As inquiries continue, police are releasing CCTV images of a woman they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
She is described as Caucasian, and was wearing all black clothing at the time, with a light-coloured scarf and carrying a black backpack.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Wagga Wagga Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
