A 21-year-old driver had his licence suspended for six months after he allegedly exceeded the speed limit by 90 km/h and accrued 14 demerit points over the long weekend.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command said Albury Highway Patrol detected a silver Holden Commodore being driven on the Olympic Highway, Gerogery, by a Provisional I licence holder travelling at 180 km/h about 8:30 am on Saturday, 5 October.

“After stopping the vehicle, police discovered the driver was not displaying P plates and the vehicle was in poor condition,” a Traffic and Highway Patrol Command spokesperson said.
