A Narrandera man was tasered by police after allegedly waving iron bars and adopting a fighting stance against officers.
Just after midnight on 26 February, police were called to an address at Camellia Drive in Narrandera to respond to claims of a male yelling and swearing.
Upon their arrival, officers found a 24-year-old Narrandera man holding what appeared to be two iron bars.
Police will allege they attempted to engage with the man, who was immediately hostile and verbally abusive, waving the iron bars around.
The man allegedly later banged one of the bars on the ground and took up a fighting stance. Police then drew their taser, at which time the man retreated.
Police instructed the man to drop the iron bars several times.
When the man approached police a second time and allegedly adopted a fighting stance close to police, he was tasered. He was then handcuffed and arrested and taken to Narrandera Police Station.
The 24-year-old was charged with intimidating police, breaching an apprehended violence order and breaching his bail. He was refused bail.
