A man has been charged with property-related offences as part of a high-visibility police operation set up to tackle property-related crimes.
Police said that during Operation Regional Mongoose, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District, Central West Police District, Southern and Western Region Tactical Operations Unit, and Tactical Operations Regional Support executed a search warrant at Foster Street, Lake Cargelligo at about 6:45 pm on 20 September.
During the search, a motor vehicle and a number of items were seized. Following inquiries made relating to items allegedly located during the search, a 20-year-old man attended Narrandera Police Station and was arrested at about 1:40 pm on 24 September.
Police allege the man was involved in break, enter, and steal offences, as well as motor vehicle thefts in West Wyalong and Parkes on 14 and 15 August.
He was charged with two counts of break and enter, two counts of driving a vehicle without the consent of the owner, aggravated break and enter of a dwelling in company, possessing an unauthorised firearm, and driving a vehicle without ever being licensed.
He appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court on 25 September, where he was granted conditional bail to reappear before the same court on 30 September.
Inquiries into Operation Regional Mongoose are ongoing.
