A man will face Griffith Local Court today (8 June) over an alleged domestic violence incident near Leeton in March.
Police said that following reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District were called to a home on Cudgel Street in Yanco at about 12 am on 9 March.
On arrival, the officers were told an 18-year-old woman had been allegedly assaulted and threatened by a 32-year-old man.
Police commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a correctional facility in Junee on 3 May, where they charged a 32-year-old man with two counts of intentionally choking without consent, common assault, and stalking/intimidating to cause fear of physical harm.
The man is due to appear at Griffith Local Court today (June 8).
