A man has died and a second is in a critical condition following a serious crash on Federation Way.
Emergency services were called to the highway in the locality of Daysdale following reports of a head-on collision between two trucks at about 1:15 pm on Thursday (11 August).
One driver died at the scene. While he is yet to be formally identified, he’s believed to be aged in his 30s.
The second driver – a 35-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was flown to hospital.
He remains in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been set up, with police urging anyone with information or dashcam footage either of or leading up to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
