An investigation is underway after a 39-year-old man was shot in Deniliquin overnight.
Officers from Murray River Police District attended Deniliquin Hospital following reports a man had presented with a gunshot wound to the right foot at about 9 pm on Tuesday, 27 December.
Police say the man was later taken to Bendigo Hospital where his condition is listed as stable.
Following inquiries, police have established a crime scene at Hussey Lane and MacAuley Street in Deniliquin, which will be examined by specialist officers later today (28 December).
Police believe the shooting was targeted.
As investigations continue, anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Deniliquin Police Station or visit Crime Stoppers. Information is treated in strict confidence.
