Man found dead in storm drain in Junee

An investigation is underway after a man’s body was found in a storm drain in Junee over the weekend.

Police said emergency services were called to Junction Street, Junee, just after 10 am on Sunday (16 July), following reports of concern for a man’s welfare.

Police said upon investigating, they discovered the man’s body in a storm drain opposite the local IGA and Red Cow Hotel car park.

The man is believed to be in his 40s and has not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the incident. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
