A 35-year-old Leeton woman and 40-year-old Griffith man have received infringement notices after being asked to leave Griffith licensed premises on the weekend in separate instances.
Leeton woman
At about 10:10 pm on Saturday 5 July, police attended a licensed premises in Griffith and spoke with staff, who informed officers about a female allegedly intoxicated and trying to re-enter the venue after being told to leave.
Police spoke with the woman, who was seated outside the premises. Officers obtained her details and the woman was then issued an infringement notice for being an excluded persons who re-enters or attempts to re-enter a licensed premises.
This infringement notice carries a penalty of $550.
Griffith man
At about 12:20 am on Sunday (13 July), a 40-year-old man was allegedly intoxicated and therefore asked by security to leave a licensed premises in Griffith.
The man began walking from the premises, however, when he got to the doorway, he allegedly refused to leave the building.
A short time later, police attended the licensed premises and were alerted by security of the man’s presence.
Police will allege they observed the man to be under the influence of alcohol with slurred speech, unsteady on his feet and lacking awareness.
Officers spoke with the man and established his identity. They then informed the man that he would be receiving an infringement notice for failing to leave a licensed premises when asked to by security.
