Griffith man who allegedly fought with pub staff after work Christmas party cops $550 fine

A Griffith man who allegedly fought with pub staff after being asked to leave due to his intoxication has received a $550 fine.

On Saturday evening (22 November), a 31-year-old man had been at a work Christmas party when he attended a licensed premises in Griffith.

Just after midnight, the man came under notice of the staff due to his alleged level of intoxication.

Staff asked the man to leave; however, police will allege that the man would not leave the venue and began looking for his friends.

The venue employees made several attempts to direct the man to the exit, but he allegedly verbally and physically resisted staff.

The man was eventually removed from the venue, but it is alleged he was physically attempting to fight staff on the footpath.

Murrumbidgee Police arrived and escorted the man to Griffith Police Station, where he was issued a Criminal Infringement Notice for failing to leave a licensed premises, which carries a fine of $550.
