Australia’s favourite novelty baby show is coming to Wagga for the first time in search of their newest King and Queen – and all for a good cause.

Baby Show Time will be held at the Wagga RSL on Monday 25 July for children from birth to eight years old.

The Melbourne-based organisation strives to bring its shows to as many areas as possible, creating a sense of community and growing friendships on a national scale. And if that, combined with the sheer cuteness of the babies isn’t enough of a reason, the funds from the show go towards Australia’s Kids with Cancer Foundation.

Baby Show Time owner Jayne Wood said the closest the organisation has ventured out towards Wagga was Albury.

“The event is a lot of fun, a great place for mums to meet and form new friendships,” Ms Wood said.

“We’ve built an amazing community with a very supportive group of people.

“We are looking to crown the very first King and Queen of Wagga.”

While babies and children can win trophies, medals ribbons and more, and a King and Queen will ultimately be crowned, Ms Wood said connection is the overwhelming vibe, not competition.

“We have a lot of mums who have opened up about their depression and felt like they never fit in anywhere,” she said.

“But with Baby Show Time they feel as though they have found their place, which is great.

“It’s like one big family. It’s beautiful.”

Baby Show Time hosts events both online and in person Australia-wide.

Ms Wood said those who would not be able to attend the show in person could still register for the contest online.

Baby Show Time Wagga will kick off at 11 am sharp on Monday 25 July and, depending on how many people enter the event, is expected to run until 2 pm.

Registration will open from 10 am and participants are recommended to arrive before 10:30 am to sign in and get settled before the show starts.

Parents can register their children until ten minutes before showtime, or click here to register online.

Entries are $12, which includes the chance to be crowned King or Queen. There is also a $5 donation required for each additional novelty section entered.
