The Temora Shire community and key stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on the Clinical Services Plan (CSP) for Temora Hospital’s $80 million redevelopment.

A CSP outlines the health services required to meet the community’s needs now and into the future and makes recommendations about the best way to deliver these services to the local community.

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) has placed a draft CSP on public exhibition on which community and stakeholders can provide input until 27 July.

The NSW Government’s $80 million commitment will provide Temora Hospital with a high-quality contemporary health facility.

Temora Shire Council Mayor Rick Firman said the comprehensive plan provided a strong direction for Temora Health Service in the coming decade.

“We’re pleased to have worked closely and in consultation with Murrumbidgee Local Health District and numerous other stakeholders to develop, what we believe to be a robust plan,” he said.

“It’s a very exciting time for our Temora Shire community and we encourage everyone to please give us their feedback about the plan.

“We’re very grateful for the thorough and genuine consultation process and we look forward to this continuing.”

Murrumbidgee Local Health District acting CEO Carla Bailey said CSP completion was essential before planning for the $80 million redevelopment could progress.

“Significant stakeholder engagement was undertaken in April and May involving consumers, community representatives, key stakeholders and health organisations,” she said.

“We thank the community for the positive response, with 111 surveys received, numerous stakeholder meetings held and attendance at a community town hall session.”

The draft was endorsed by the CSP Steering Committee, which included community representatives and members of the Local Health Advisory.

The feedback from the public exhibition will be assessed and incorporated into the report, which will be provided to the Murrumbidgee Local Health District for endorsement.

Following endorsement, the updated CSP will progress to the Ministry of Health and Health Infrastructure for commencement of its master planning phase.
