The Rural Crime Investigation Team is appealing for help following the theft of almost 300 sheep from a property near Harden two months ago.

Police say 289 merino ewes were taken on Thursday, 13 October 2022.

Police say investigators have received information about two livestock transport vehicles, whose drivers may be able to assist with inquiries.

Truck one is described as a white or light coloured International ‘T line’ prime mover (cab-over) towing light coloured single deck stock crate.

Truck two is described as a white long nose prime mover with green trim/decals towing a double deck stock crate dark in colour.

Police say theft of this scale and magnitude has a considerable financial and psychological impact on the victim and the rural community as a whole.

Landholders are reminded to be aware of farm security and monitor suspicious vehicles and activity in and around their community and are also reminded of the importance of reporting incidents of rural crime.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, your local police station or Rural Crime Investigator Detective Senior Constable Walker on 0427 473 460.
