As the year draws to a close, I’d like to take the opportunity to wish everyone across the Wagga Wagga electorate a very Merry Christmas, and a safe and happy new year.

2022 has been another busy year, one which presented many challenges for residents across our region.

Multiple flooding events saw our businesses, landowners and individuals severely impacted, and demonstrated once again the resilience of our communities and volunteers. We have also seen our roads badly affected by rain and flooding.

This year has been one of significant progress and achievement across the electorate. We have seen the completion and opening of the new $23 million Wagga Wagga PCYC facility, the $50 million Tumut Hospital redevelopment, and the signing of an agreement that will see the Tolland Renewal Project move forward.

I hope you all get the opportunity over the coming weeks to relax and enjoy some downtime with loved ones, after what has been another tough year for many across the electorate.

At this time, please keep in mind that Christmas is not always a joyous time for all, but is often a time of sadness, grief or isolation. Please be patient and kind with all who are around you at what can be, for some, a very stressful time.

And during the holidays please travel safely on our roads and be safe around our rivers and beaches.

From me and my family to you and yours, Merry Christmas!

A reminder that my office will close for the Christmas break from 1 pm this Friday 23 December, and will reopen 9 am Monday 9 January 2023.
