A 28-year-old Griffith man will face court after allegedly causing two separate police pursuits in two different vehicles on the same day.

At about 1 pm on Wednesday (23 April), police attempted to pull over a dark coloured sedan with no registration plates near Stony Point Road, Leeton.

When the car allegedly failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated. After some time, officers lost sight of the vehicle. The car was later located on fire in an orchard near Coughlan Road, Leeton.

At about 2:10 pm that day, a white Subaru was sighted by police allegedly being driven by the same man and a female passenger near Whitton.

A pursuit commenced and the man allegedly drove the Subaru down a side road off Kidman Way at Willbriggie and entered a farm property.

The man and woman allegedly attempted to run from police. Both were soon apprehended by police without incident.

Police will allege the man tested positive to a roadside drug test, and is now awaiting the results of secondary testing.

The man was later charged with failing to stop for police and driving dangerously.

His bail was refused and he will next appear before Griffith Court on Wednesday 7 May 2025.

The 30-year-old female from Leeton was charged with breaching of bail and will appear before Leeton Local Court on 18 August 2025.
