A 30-year-old man faced court after allegedly leaving the scene following a collision with a parked car over the Easter long weekend.
Police said Hay Highway Patrol officers were involved in a short pursuit with a black Mercedes-Benz sedan in Leeton yesterday (21 April) at about 1:50 pm.
The pursuit was terminated, and about 90 minutes later, officers received a driving complaint in relation to the same black Mercedes driving erratically on Dalgetty Street in Narrandera.
Officers saw the same black Mercedes-Benz travelling east along Dalgetty Street at high speed at about 3:45 pm.
At the intersection of Dalgetty and Racecourse Roads, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a parked car.
The Griffith driver allegedly left the scene of the collision and entered several properties in an attempt to avoid apprehension.
A search was conducted of nearby properties, and the driver was located in the rear yard of a property on Dalgetty Street.
He was placed under arrest and taken to Narrandera Police Station, where he was charged with multiple offences, including police pursuit/driving dangerously, driving with a cancelled license, driving recklessly, committing a serious indictable offence, and entering premises without a lawful excuse.
The man was also wanted and charged with several unrelated break and enter, assaulting police, and stolen motor vehicle offences.
He was refused bail and appeared at Wagga Wagga Local Court on 22 April.
