The excitement is building for the fourth instalment of Temora’s Bectric Rocks concert, and event organisers are urging bus users to secure their bookings as soon as possible.
All artists have been locked in for this year’s concert, which will be held on 15 March at the historic Bectric Recreation Reserve, and it will include favourite arists from years past and some new and exciting performers.
The Bectric Hall is 120 years old and the country’s last-standing pise hall (which uses rammed-earth building techniques). Part of the funds raised will go towards maintaining the historic venue.
“This year’s event is shaping up to be our best yet. We can’t wait to welcome everyone for a fun-filled evening of live music and community spirit, ” said event organiser Debbie Coddington.
“We are excited to announce our very own song, Bectric Rocks, which incorporates Bectric, the hall, and mental health.
“It is in the final stages of being recorded and will be included on an album by The Little Riverina Band, titled “Riverina Breathing”.
Mrs Coddington came across the young talent and asked if they would be interested in helping her compile the lyrics and music for the song Bectric Rocks.
“The three young siblings jumped on board without hesitation,” Mrs Coddington said.
“This great little band has three members from the same family: Esther (14), bass guitar and vocals; Benjamin (11), keyboard, drums, and vocals; and Daniel (10), lead singer and guitar.
“I’ve found these kids are not limited by fear or doubts. They sit down and come up with something quite amazing.”
The siblings have been performing since Christmas 2019. Daniel won his place in the Junior Golden Gig competition in Tamworth in 2024. The band plays rock and country.
The Bectric Rocks concert will see some great talent converge for an afternoon/night musical extravaganza. The event aims to raise much-needed funds for the upkeep of the hall and the Temora and District Hospital.

Craig has won numerous music awards, released 17 successful albums, and performed alongside legends like Glen Campbell. He will also be hosting his eighth Music Tour of America in October and a third music tour/cruise of New Zealand in November
- Lock, Stock, and Bingle – A three-piece band known for covering a wide range of musical styles, from rock ‘n’ roll classics to modern hits
- Jen Irvine (Shotgun Wedding) – A powerful and versatile vocalist with experience in theatre and multiple bands
- Letitia Payne – A talented West Wyalong vocalist with a strong drama and music background
- Rachel Wilton – A Wollongong singer-songwriter and Temora High School teacher with a smooth folk-blues style
- Plan B Band – A newly formed group featuring accomplished musicians Tony Nichols, Ian “Harry” Harper, Andrew Drinkwater, and Peter Hartwig.

A mobile stage, hired from the Temora Shire Council, will showcase the acts and provide a safe environment under the shady trees.
As in past years, the Bectric Hall Committee will provide lamb gravy rolls, a barbecue, and icy cold soft drinks for sale. Kin&Co (Angela Breust and team) will provide their coffee van with a variety of treats and gluten-free options. Mr Whippy’s ice cream van will also be present.
“People will need to bring their fold-up chairs, their smiles, and their dancing shoes,” Mrs Coddington said.
“It will be an opportunity to catch up with family and friends and to enjoy the serenity of the outdoors in the bush.
“If the weather is fine, the event will be held outdoors; however, in case of inclement weather, it will be held in the hall.”
Camping sites are also available, but they need to be booked well in advance as they are an extra cost, and there is a limit on how many vans are allowed on-site.
The cost for the event is $20 per head, and children under 16 enter free at the gate. A campsite booking is $15 per van per night.
For a stress-free experience, a bus service will be available, departing from Paleface Park at 1 pm for $10 per person. Seats are limited, so bookings must be made with Grant Reid (0408 306 860) or Deb Coddington (0409 898 656) by Monday 10 March.
The Bectric Rocks concert will be held on 15 March at the historic Bectric Recreation Reserve. Contact Mrs Coddington for bookings and more information.
