Police appeal for information on suspicious fire at Uneke Lounge

Police are appealing for information about a fire at a cafe this week.

Emergency services were called to Uneke Lounge, a two-storey business at the corner of Fitzmaurice and Kincaid streets, around 11 pm on Monday (20 January) following reports of a fire.

20 Fire and Rescue NSW firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze. The building sustained smoke and water damage.

The fire is believed to have started in the shrubs outside the building in Kincaid Street and is being treated as suspicious.

Police want to speak with two females who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The first is described as Caucasian in appearance, with blonde hair. She was wearing a black hoodie, black pants and white shoes, and carrying a light-coloured backpack.

The second is also described as Caucasian, with brown hair. She was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts with white trim, and black shoes.

Uneke Lounge announced on its social media the coffee window would be open today until noon for takeaways.
